The United States International Trade Commission (Commission) is an independent Federal agency that adjudicates import injury cases and provides the President and Congress with high-quality analysis and technical support on international trade, tariff, and competitiveness issues. The Commission also publishes the United States' Tariff schedule.
We are searching for an executive to serve as the USITC's Chief Economist. You will direct the Commission's responsibilities with respect to economic analysis and research, providing executive leadership to the various economic programs and studies requested by the Congress and the President under section 332 of the Tariff Act of 1930, and various other research products. You will also serve as a key member of the executive leadership of the Commission, actively participating in activities that drive the strategic direction of the Commission and optimize resource usage to further the Commission's mission.
In addition to economic expertise, we also are seeking an individual with extensive experience leading teams of highly technical skilled professionals and supervisors with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal customers and staff to achieve strategic and statutory goals.
