The School of Economics (SOE) at the University of Maine (UMaine) is seeking an Assistant Professor of Health Economics & Policy with an interest in the links between the environment and human health. This full-time, academic-year, tenure-track, 50% teaching/50% research position is located fully in SOE and part of a hiring cluster to increase capacity in health-related research and teaching.
Essential Responsibilities include conducting and disseminating original research related to health economics and policy, collaborating with multi-disciplinary colleagues and decision makers, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, and advising and mentoring students.
Required Qualifications: A Ph.D. in economics, public health, health policy, decision sciences, health services or outcomes research, or a closely related field by date of hire; experience with cost-effectiveness and benefit-cost analyses, and training in applied microeconomics and program/policy evaluation; proficient in the use of advanced econometric/statistical methods; able to write and orally communicate effectively to technical and non-technical audiences; and have a commitment to professional development, collegiality, public service and high quality teaching.
