The Department of Economics in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts at the University of Michigan seeks applicants with a Ph.D. for full time Lecturer III positions to begin as early as September 1, 2015, pending authorization. These are non-tenure track positions with a university year appointment. Pending College approval, the initial appointment period for these positions would be three years and the positions are renewable, subject to budget, programmatic need, and performance.
Duties and responsibilities for these Lecturer III positions include but are not limited to teaching introductory and intermediate level undergraduate courses and participating in the academic advising of undergraduate students. A typical full-time (100% effort) load for a Lecturer III in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts is three courses per semester, or the equivalent in other duties.
We are looking for experienced instructors with a record of excellence in the classroom who can successfully teach large sections of Introductory and Intermediate Microeconomics or Macroeconomics. Qualified candidates will have a Ph.D. in Economics, have economics teaching experience at the college level, and there is preference for candidates with experience teaching the principles of economics.
