The African Institute of Financial Markets and Risk Management in the Faculty of Commerce at the University of Cape Town is a newly founded graduate institute committed to rigorous scholarly research on financial markets. We are inviting applications for two Postdoctoral Researchers with a background in economics, finance, computer science, or a closely related field, who have demonstrated the potential for excellent scholarly work. The position does not have any teaching or administrative obligations. We offer a one-year contract with the option of an extension for another year. The net annual salary of R240,000 allows a very comfortable lifestyle in Cape Town. A research budget is available.
We are particularly interested in building a team to work on topics financial interconnectedness and agent-based modelling, but researchers from all areas of finance, financial mathematics, and financial economics are welcome to apply. Further information can be found at http://www.aifmrm.co.za
