The School of Economics at Singapore Management University is undertaking a major study of the economic aspects of ageing in Singapore, supported by a grant from the Singapore government. We seek applications from suitably qualified individuals for appointment as post-doctoral or research fellows for up to four years to conduct research in this area. Applicants should have (or reasonably expect to have) a PhD in Economics by the time they commence the appointment.

Successful applicants will have flexibility in determining their research program in relevant areas. Suitable areas would include pensions, health economics, labor economics, housing and urban economics, and demography. There is no teaching requirement, although fellows may be invited to contribute to short courses or teaching programs in their areas of interest.

Fellows will have access to a unique panel data set that is being established at SMU on the basis of monthly surveys of 10,000 Singaporeans. This major data collection program is being undertaken in collaboration with the RAND Centre for the Study of Aging.
