The School of International Service (SIS) at American University (AU) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 1, 2015. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in economics by August 2015.

We seek scholar-teachers whose work is theoretically grounded, empirically tested, and policy relevant. Candidates should demonstrate excellence in research and teaching and a commitment to university service. Candidates should also share the School's commitment to diversity.

We are specifically interested in candidates with a research emphasis in international economics (trade or finance) to advance AU's agenda in global financial and economic governance. Additional research interests in applied fields such as development, environment or energy issues would be welcome in order to create synergies with other economists at SIS and AU. The successful candidate will be expected to teach core international economics courses at the undergraduate and the MA levels.

Salary and benefits are competitive. Review of applications will begin September 15 and will continue until the position is filled, with initial interviews planned at the January 2015 Allied Social Science Association (ASSA) meetings in Boston.
