Full Text of JOE Listing:

The Economics Department at Vanderbilt University invites applications for a tenure track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. We encourage applicants with research interests in microeconomic theory and in applied microeconomic theory, especially in topics such as contract theory, economics of organizations, experimental economics, and information economics. Vanderbilt stresses excellence in research and teaching in its doctoral, masters, and undergraduate programs. Preliminary interviews will be conducted at the January AEA meetings.

Appointment at the Assistant Professor level at full salary requires a Ph.D. as of August 2015. Faculty duties include the development of a distinguished and visible program of research as well as teaching.

Applicants for the position should use either (but not both) the AEA JOE Network submission system or Econjobmarket.org. Submissions should include a cover letter, CV, job market paper, statement of teaching interests and evidence of teaching effectiveness; you will also need to designate three references who will be contacted by the submission system you use for letters of recommendation. If for some reason you cannot access (and successfully use) either of those two submissions systems, you should send a cover letter, CV, job market paper, statement of teaching interests, evidence of teaching effectiveness, and three letters of recommendation (under separate cover) to Margaret Fergus, Department of Economics, Vanderbilt University, 2301 Vanderbilt Place, VU Station B Box 351819, Nashville, TN 37235. Again, please use only one channel of submission.

We will commence reviewing submissions on November 20th, 2014, and will schedule preliminary interviews at the AEA meetings shortly thereafter. An equal opportunity-affirmative action employer, Vanderbilt encourages applications from women and minorities
