Northland College seeks highly qualified candidates of any rank for an endowed chair position located in the Department of Social Responsibility and Northland's Center for Rural Community.

Position Description
The Chapple Chair will deliver 4 courses per academic year (approximately 50% of a full-time faculty teaching load) in the area of rural economic development and the candidate's area of expertise. Priority will be given to applicants that can teach courses in the areas of small business development, non-profit management, rural economic policy, GIS, grant writing, and/or quantitative methods/statistics. Ideal candidates will also expand the range of course offerings within the sustainable community development major.

Responsibilities
The Chapple Chair will also receive a 50% appointment in the Center for Rural Community. Established in Fall 2014, the CRC seeks to enhance community-based research in ways that ensure the sustainability of "Northwoods" communities by providing the necessary research, data, analysis, and expertise required to ensure the immediate region's long-term viability.

Candidates must have a PhD in a related field such as economics, economic/community development, economic policy, business, or another social science discipline by September of 2015.
