The Oregon Public Utility Commission (PUC) has an excellent opportunity for a highly qualified and motivated individual to work in the dynamic area of energy policy and regulation as an Economist 4(Senior Economist).
The PUC is responsible for regulating investor-owned utilities, privately-owned water companies, and the telephone industry.
The person in this position serves as the energy market analyst in the agency’s Energy Resources and Planning section. This involves primary responsibility for the formulation of regulatory policy, conducting highly-technical complex research on matters related to electricity and natural gas markets and review of energy utility Integrated Resource plans (IRPs) and electric utility Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for major resource acquisitions.
Minimum Qualifications
A Master’s degree in economics or a related field and four years of experience doing economic research or econometric forecasting;
OR
A Ph.D. in economics or a related field and one year experience doing economic research.
