The Area of Energy, Economics, and Law in the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University seeks applicants for a tenured or tenure-track faculty appointment at the assistant, associate or full professor rank (contingent upon the applicant's qualifications) with an expectation of teaching undergraduate and graduate students. For the exceptional candidate, there is the possibility of an endowed chair as part of the appointment.

Successful candidates will have a capacity to advance the university's research mission through an established record and/or a demonstration of strong potential to execute a promising agenda in research related to the oil and gas industry. The successful candidate will be expected to teach, conduct research, and provide service to the department, the college and the university. Service duties include program building, as well as commitment to extracurricular activities. Service to the department, college and university is expected.

The preferred qualifications for the position include a Ph.D. in economics or another terminal degree in a field related to oil and gas exploration and production. Applicants must have a demonstrated ability to establish a focused research program or appropriate industry/consulting experience. A strong teaching record is a plus. Preference is given to Ph.D. in economics.
