Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Assistant Professor will be an integral member of the Center for the Evaluation of Value and Risk in Health (CEVR), a research group that is part of the Institute for Clinical Research and Health Policy Studies at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. The candidate should have a background in population health and economics, decision science, epidemiology, or cost-effectiveness analysis. He or she should have a documented interest in using tools from these fields (e.g., statistical analysis and simulation) to answer questions about the value stakeholders place on health improvements or on the impact of interventions on health.
A focus on high impact issues is desirable. Topics could include, for example, the impact of innovation on cancer outcomes and treatment costs, how cost-effectiveness analysis data might influence reimbursement decisions, the extent to which health care cost growth might be controlled by more efficiently using resources, or what value the public places on health care innovations achieved during the past several decades and whether perceived value is correlated with the innovation cost. We are particularly interested in candidates who have research ideas using data from the Tufts Medical Center’s Cost-Effectiveness Analysis (CEA) Registry.
