The Department of Business Administration, Technology and Social Sciences currently have a 200-strong faculty. The Department is organized in four divisions which undertakes research and teaches within business administration, innovation processes and entrepreneurship, quality management and social sciences, including economics. The Economics unit is part of the Division of Social Sciences. It has a strong, multidisciplinary research environment focusing on environmental, natural resource and energy issues. The division currently includes approximately 35 senior researchers and teachers of which seven are full professors, and approximately 20 PhD students.
The Economics unit is involved in research projects aiming to create efficient and environmentally sound biorefinery processes that use biomass sourced from forests as feed-stock. Much of this research applies a holistic multidisciplinary approach to study the possibilities and potentials for implementation of biorefineries in Sweden. A considerable part of the research is to develop economic CGE models, or partial equilibrium models, that can interact with e.g., energy system models.

The position also requires multi-disciplinary collaborations (with other social sciences and engineering sciences).
