Full time, Tenure Track, 9 month appointment, teaching/research split negotiable.

The Department seeks an Associate or Full Professor with an established nationally and preferred internationally recognized research program focusing on agricultural, food, resource, environmental, international trade or development economics. The person hired will be expected to continue building this program including obtaining significant extramural funding to support their research and graduate students. The research program should address major current and emerging state, national and international issues. Prolific publishing in highly ranked field journals is expected in conjunction with communication of results and expertise to policy makers, industry and other constituencies. Collaboration with other faculty members and the directing of significant numbers of graduate students is also expected. Teaching appointment will be two or three classes per year and will likely include at least one course at the graduate level. A strong commitment to the department’s instructional programs and to excellence in teaching is expected of all faculty members.

A Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, Applied Economics, or Economics is required with strong knowledge of economic theory and quantitative methods, an outstanding publication and graduate student mentoring record, a strong grants and contracts record, a willingness to work in a team environment, and excellent communication skills. The position is open to highly qualified, experienced individuals from all fields within economics. The hiring rank will be determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and track record.
