Tenure-Track Professor/Associate Professor in Public Policy in the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.: 201401317)

Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Professor/Associate Professor in Public Policy in the Faculty of Social Sciences, to commence on September 1, 2015 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with consideration for tenure after satisfactory completion of a second three-year contract.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in a relevant area, an outstanding record of research and teaching, and substantial experience in the development and management of public affairs programmes at a major research-intensive university. Their field of expertise may include social science broadly conceived (economics, geography and the environment, governance, management, politics, public policy, social psychology, social work, sociology, etc.), with a focus on substantive policy issues preferably in the context of Greater China. They are expected to have demonstrated excellent leadership and marketing skills. The appointee will be expected to lead the Faculty's public policy initiative, which includes research, executive education, public engagement, and undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes in public policy. A globally competitive remuneration package commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.
