Description:
The Department of Economics in the College of Arts and Sciences at The Ohio State University seeks to hire an Associate or Full Professor working primarily in the area of Econometrics, with a focus on data analytics, empirical methods, and/or computational tools applied to analyze complex models and/or large-scale datasets in economics, for a position commencing autumn semester 2015. Top candidates will have the ability to develop and apply econometric methods and models that exploit "big data" to address important questions involving economic, social, spatial, and organizational interactions among individuals. Although not a requirement, someone with a research focus on methods applicable in Applied Microeconomics, broadly construed, would complement the interests of our faculty. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in leading research, advise graduate students and provide a high level of service within the department, college, university and discipline. Salary, benefits and research support are competitive. This position is partially funded by Ohio State's Discovery Themes Initiative, a significant faculty hiring investment in key thematic areas in which the university can build on its culture of academic collaboration to make a global impact.

Qualifications:
The candidate we seek will have an established, active and ongoing record of scholarship at the highest level. He or she will have an international reputation in research, evidence of strong teaching ability and an exceptional record of advising graduate students. A doctoral degree in Economics is required at the time of application.

Application Instructions:
Applications will be accepted until the position is filled, but those received before December 1, 2014 will receive priority consideration. Complete applications will include the curriculum vitae, three letters of reference and a sample of recent publications or working papers. Please apply online through Academic Jobs Online, posting #5026, at: http://academicjobsonline.org. Inquiries may be directed to David Blau, blau.12@osu.edu.
