The Banking Supervision and Regulation areas of the Federal Reserve System are seeking to hire entry-level and senior Quantitative Risk Specialists from select specialties to assist in various aspects of big data-driven bank supervision and to provide research and risk analysis for monitoring and policy decision making. Desired specialties include banking and finance, capital markets and regulatory policy with particular emphasis on retail and wholesale credit risk. Primary responsibilities include conducting independent, original research, advising senior management on topics of macro prudential policy, assisting in annual bank stress tests on the largest U.S. bank holding companies, exam support, and producing expert analysis in the area of specialization. Economists will work at one of the twelve Federal Reserve Banks or the Board of Governors, with placement depending on the needs across the System and each candidate's specialty. The position involves some travel.

Candidates must hold or be seeking a Ph.D. in economics, finance, or a related field, has demonstrated research and analytical skills, and has excellent written and oral communication skills. Senior-level candidates should have an established research record and/or a significant amount of relevant policymaking experience. Salary and level of position will be commensurate with background and experience. Due to hiring restrictions, the candidate must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, or hold a permanent resident/green card with intent to become a U.S. Citizen.
