The Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation at the Harvard Kennedy School will offer one postdoctoral fellowship in the field of contemporary China energy policy to recent PhDs of exceptional promise.

Eligibility:
Applicants must have received their PhD within five years of the start of the fellowship, in a relevant discipline in the social sciences. Preference will be given to those working in the areas of Chinese domestic politics and economics, with a focus on energy policy.

Residence in the Cambridge area and participation in the activities of the Center are required. It is expected that the successful applicant will give at least one research presentation or public talk during the fellowship period, and complete several short briefs on their research. Those who are chosen to receive fellowships must have completed ALL requirements for the Ph.D. degree by June 1, 2015.

Each fellowship will run for a period of up to two years. The recipient will receive an annual stipend of $50,000, health insurance, and work space.

Knowledge of Chinese is required, as well as the ability to work with original sources.
