The Department of Health Services Management and Leadership (HSML) within the Milken Institute School of Public Health at The George Washington University is seeking applicants for a tenured or tenure-track faculty position in health services management at the full, associate or assistant professor level (12-month appointment).

The mission of the HSML Department is to prepare future leaders to manage health services organizations such as medical group practices, hospitals, accountable care organizations, post-acute care facilities, community health centers and international health service organizations. The department offers a CAHME-accredited Master of Health Administration (MHA) degree, a Master of Public Health (MPH) in public health management degree, and an executive format MHA degree (MHA@GW). Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have an earned doctoral degree before July 1, 2015 in health services research, health care administration, business administration, or a relevant social science discipline. Applicants also must have teaching experience related to health services management, and must demonstrate the ability to conduct externally funded health services or management research.

The successful candidate will teach in both the residential and executive MHA programs; mentor and advise master and doctoral degree students; and pursue a vibrant, externally-funded research agenda in health services research and/or health management research. The Department values innovative research that is multidisciplinary in nature and is focused on continuously improving the management of healthcare delivery organizations. Research done in collaboration with health sector practitioners is particularly important.
