Iowa State University has launched a second round of Presidential High Impact Hires to support targeted faculty hiring in areas of strategic importance. As part of the initiative, the Department of Economics and the Department of Finance seek to hire an assistant, associate, or full professor (tenured or tenure-track) to fill an interdisciplinary position in the Agricultural Business undergraduate program in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the Finance/Real Estate program in the College of Business, to start in August of 2015.

The successful candidate is expected to maintain an innovative research program in agricultural finance, risk management, real estate finance, or banking. Teaching responsibilities will include agricultural finance in the Agricultural Business undergraduate program and real estate finance, with a special focus on agricultural real estate, in the Finance program. Additionally, the successful candidate is expected to publish regularly in high-quality journals appropriate to his/her area of specialization, supervise graduate student research, and seek external grant and contract funding in support of his/her research. The successful applicant is further expected to assist in the creation of a real estate center that connects the university with real estate developers, investors, and other real estate professionals. The tenure home for this position will be in either the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences or the College of Business, depending upon which is more appropriate to the successful applicant’s research area and record.
