The Department of Economics invites applications to fill one or more faculty openings at the associate or full professor rank to begin in the fall of 2015. The fields within Economics are open, although applications are particularly encouraged from candidates in applied and policy fields such as macroeconomics, labor, health, and development. The Department welcomes applications from candidates whose interests are aligned with Northeastern’s global mission and its research emphases on health, sustainability, security, and network sciences. A PhD in Economics or the equivalent is required. A successful candidate will have an excellent record of both scholarship and teaching.

The Department of Economics includes seventeen full-time tenured and tenure-track faculty members, and serves approximately 700 undergraduate majors and 100 graduate students in its MA and PhD programs. The PhD program currently focuses on labor economics and industrial organization, but anticipates expanding its fields. The department expects to hire more than ten new faculty members over the next five years through expansion as well as replacement of retiring faculty.
