Giant Oak provides analysis and subject matter expertise to the US government on matters related to national defense and homeland security. Previous and current clients include the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the United States Computer Emergency Research Team (US-CERT), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

Giant Oak has openings for Social Scientists that are interested in applying social scientific research tools in national security, particularly in threat finance, cyber security, and counterterrorism. Proficiency in quantitative methods, big data tools, network analysis, and related software are highly desirable. Researchers are encouraged to publish their unclassified findings in peer-reviewed journals. A PhD in economics or related discipline such as statistics, finance, computer science, operations research, or political science, strong research and communication skills, and U.S. citizenship are required.

Ideal applicant will be a U.S. citizen with an active security clearance with the ability to gain and hold a SCI security clearance. Applicants without active clearances will be considered.
