The Economics Department at Lancaster University is committed to world-class academic excellence. You should have already established an excellent track record of recent publications in internationally recognised journals, success in programme development and curriculum innovation, and experience on administrative duties. You will be expected to participate fully in the intellectual life of the department, to maintain a high quality research agenda that reaches out to external networks of collaborators as well as contributing to research activity within the Department. This will include participating in externally funded collaborative research projects as well as seeking funding for one’s own projects. The teaching responsibilities will consist of a contribution to core subjects at any level as well to the research areas of the job-holder. You will also be expected to contribute towards the supervision of PhD students.

The post is open to any area of Economics, with a preference for candidates whose research interests complement existing strengths in the department – labour/education economics, macroeconomics and financial markets, IO and Economic Theory, political economy and international trade.
