The Department of Economics invites applications for two tenure track positions at the assistant professor level for appointments effective September 1, 2015.

For both positions the department seeks candidates who have extensive training in Macroeconomics. For one position, (Requisition # 1773BR) preference will be given to candidates with teaching and research interests in econometrics and forecasting in one or more of the following fields: money and banking, business cycle fluctuations or monetary policy. Strong candidates from the same or other related fields are encouraged to apply for and will be given consideration for the second position (Requisition #1755BR). The successful applicants will have a Ph.D. in Economics by the start date and will be expected to contribute to the university’s mission, including producing publishable research, applying for external funding, supervising Ph.D. dissertation research, and teaching effectively at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Salary, scholarly assistance and benefits are competitive.

Applications should include a letter of interest, vita, transcripts of graduate work, three letters of reference, a research paper, a research statement, evidence of teaching effectiveness, if available, and statement of teaching philosophy. Preference will be given to candidates whose application and supporting materials are received by December 1, 2014. Interviews will be held at the Annual AEA/ASSA meeting in Boston, MA.
