The Economics Department and Environmental Studies Program at Oberlin College invite applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position in the College of Arts and Sciences. The Economics Department is the tenure home for the position; the incumbent will also serve as a permanent member of the Environmental Studies Program Committee, which oversees this interdisciplinary major. Initial appointment to this position is for a term of four years, beginning fall semester 2015, and carries the rank of Assistant Professor.

We seek a candidate with scholarly interests in the area of environmental, resource, or energy economics. Candidates must demonstrate interest and potential excellence in undergraduate teaching. The incumbent should have earned the Ph.D. in Economics, Agricultural Economics, or Resource Economics, or have expectations of completing such degree by August 2015.

The incumbent will engage in sustained scholarly research and teach Environmental Economics, a second course in the area of environmental, resource or energy economics, a periodic seminar in this area as well as offer core courses in economic principles, intermediate theory or econometrics. The teaching load alternates between 4 and 5 courses per year. The incumbent will participate in the full range of faculty responsibilities, including academic advising and service on College committees with specific commitments to the Environmental Studies Program. Salary will depend on qualifications and experience.
