The Department of Economics in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University at Buffalo, SUNY seeks to hire, effective August 13, 2015, one tenure-track assistant professor, with interests in the economics of health, and/or the economics of education, as well as the intersection of these two components of human capital.

Position responsibilities include teaching courses in these areas at all levels, research and scholarly work as well as developing external funding and participating in faculty activities suitable to academic rank. The individual will be based in the Dept. of Economics, but will also be a member of the Center of Excellence on Human Capital, Technology Transfer and Economic Growth and Development which focuses, in collaboration with scholars at the Graduate School of Education and other units, on the role of knowledge, learning, health, and innovation in promoting economic and social development.

Applicants must possess or have completed a PhD degree by August 2015. Preference will be given to candidates with strong research records and an active research agenda.
