RTI International’s Health Care Financing and Payment Program is seeking senior and mid-level researchers with interests in Medicare, Medicaid, health economics, and health care policy and reform. Areas of special interest include: design and evaluation of health care insurance, payment, and delivery models; managed care; health care financing; program evaluation; health care costs, utilization, and quality; health insurance coverage and access; prescription drugs; risk and casemix adjustment and the descriptive and statistical policy analysis of large healthcare datasets.

Opportunities exist for new and experienced Ph.D.s and M.A.s, and economists and policy analysts with relevant experience beyond the Ph.D. or M.A. in academia, government, industry, or consulting. Candidates must have the ability to correctly conceptualize policy problems, design and implement appropriate research methods, apply appropriate quantitative and qualitative techniques, and effectively communicate both orally and in writing with clients and staff including non-technical audiences. Senior staff will lead ongoing and new projects and contribute to grant and contract proposals to government agencies and other funding sources. Senior candidates should have interest in developing a research agenda, obtaining funding and contributing to the profession through publications and presentations. Mid-level staff will support senior staff as well as work independently. Extensive support is available to assist in all aspects of the research process. Positions can be located in Research Triangle Park, NC, Atlanta, GA., Washington, DC, Waltham, MA, San Francisco, CA and Chicago, IL.
