The Urban & Environmental Policy Department at Occidental College invites applications for a senior scholar at the associate or full professor level with tenure to begin in fall 2015.

We invite candidates from urban planning, economics, sociology, political science, environmental studies, geography, law, public health, history, and other disciplines. Candidates should have a Ph.D. or terminal degree in their field and have a track record of successful research, publication, grant-funded projects, and teaching. We are open to considering candidates with extensive professional and community experience.

We seek candidates who specialize in the “green economy” and “green jobs” and can teach some combination of courses about community economic development, workforce and employment policy, urban political economy, poverty and labor, sustainable development, food, natural resources, resilient cities, the built environment and urban design. We seek candidates who will contribute to our socioeconomically, ethnically, culturally, and intellectually diverse academic environment through teaching, research and service.
