Weber State University is a public, open enrollment, urban university located 35 miles north of Salt Lake City at the base of the Wasatch Mountains. The University has a total enrollment of over 25,000 students who are predominantly from Northern Utah. However, a high percentage of economics majors are currently international students. The university emphasizes both undergraduate research and community engagement.

The Department of Economics invites applications for two tenure track positions at the rank of assistant professor beginning fall 2015. These positions offer a competitive salary, 3/3 teaching load and research support.

Successful candidates must have a demonstrated interest in regularly teaching courses in quantitative methods (business statistics or business calculus), and macroeconomics (principles and intermediate). Teaching responsibilities for this position will also include upper-level economics elective courses, particularly in the area of international economics.

The ideal candidate will be a dynamic teacher who maintains an active research agenda, has the potential or demonstrated success publishing in peer reviewed journals, mentors undergraduate research projects and recruits economics majors. A Ph.D. in economics by July 1, 2015 is required.
