Senior Lecturer in Social Entrepreneurship

The Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy at the University of Virginia invites distinguished applicants to apply for the newly established Lecturer in Social Entrepreneurship. The lecturer will teach courses as well as assume some program responsibilities as part of the Batten School's expanding social entrepreneurship initiative at U.Va. This is a renewable, non-tenure track position.

Candidates may come from a range of disciplines including political science, economics, entrepreneurship, law, business ethics, business administration, public administration. Professional experience within the social enterprise community is valued. A Ph.D. or professional experience and a graduate professional degree is required.

An ideal candidate's research and/or professional experience would focus on Social Entrepreneurship broadly defined, including but not limited to work on: public private partnerships, social impact bonds, federal and state innovation funds, micro-finance funds, public policy related to social innovation (i.e. state-level B-Corp legislation), tax policy related to social enterprise and innovative hybrid non-profit/for-profit models, impact investing, non-profit leadership and management with a focus on innovative financing models, innovative international development, business regulations in developing countries.

Competitive candidates with a research focus will have a distinguished or developing publication record in scholarly, practitioner, and/or policy venues. Competitive candidates with an applied focus will have distinguished record of professional experience, alongside an interest in contributing to the scholarly community at Batten and U.Va. through collaborations with research faculty. The Batten School is strongly committed to enhancing faculty and student diversity.

The appointment begins on August 25, 2015.
