Postdoctoral fellowships are available starting January or July, 2015 within University of Maryland’s Pharmaceutical Health Services Research Department. The fellowship provides multidisciplinary, advanced training to economists, health services researchers, and clinicians. Fellows engage in health economics and comparative effectiveness research (CER) activities funded by AHRQ, NIH, other government agencies, foundations, and private corporations. Training involves mentored research experiences with Drs. Mullins or Shaya and may include coursework in CER, pharmacoeconomics, and health services research. Strong quantitative skills and experience with large database analysis are required. Fellows may also gain teaching experience. The fellowship prepares fellows for positions in academia, government, the pharmaceutical or insurance industries, and consulting. Fellows receive a competitive salary and benefits. The application deadline is December 1, 2014 for July 2015 start dates (November 1, 2014 for January 2015) with screening interviews at the AEA meetings or by phone. Finalist interviews will take place onsite in Baltimore. Applicants should submit a letter of intent indicating their interest in the fellowship, and enclose their curriculum vita, a writing sample, and three letters of recommendation.
