The School of Business at Montclair State University invites applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position in Real Estate at the Assistant Professor level starting September 1, 2015. The Department of Economics and Finance recently launched a Real Estate program. While the Residential and Commercial Real Estate markets in Northern New Jersey and the New York metropolitan regions offer exciting opportunities; there are few academic Real Estate programs in the area and the Real Estate concentration at Montclair State has experienced dramatic growth over the past few years. The Department of Economics and Finance recently launched an new undergraduate concentration in Real Estate and will be adding new campus wide minor and certificate programs as well as creating Real Estate courses for the MBA program. In addition to teaching undergraduate courses in real estate, the successful candidate will be responsible for interacting with the local Real Estate community and media, recruiting new students for the program, and publishing their scholarly works in high quality refereed journals.

The School of Business is accredited by AACSB International at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; it offers BS in Business Administration, BA in Economics, MBA, and MS Accounting degree programs. A total of 75 full-time faculty members bring an impressive range of expertise to the School, with terminal degrees and advanced training from leading universities. The School of Business is committed to raising our scholarly profile and has dedicated substantial resources to support faculty research and development; the School houses research journals in multiple disciplines and has hosted several national and international business conferences. The Department of Economics and Finance has twenty tenure/ tenure-track faculty members with a wide range of teaching and research interests.

Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must hold a Ph.D. with a real estate focus from an accredited university, have an established record of publications in high quality journals and have teaching experience. They must demonstrate a depth of knowledge and experience across a wide range of real estate topics and practices, extensive subject matter knowledge of real estate laws and regulations and successful teaching experience in higher education. Preference will be given to qualified candidates who have publications in peer-reviewed journals, a strong research pipeline, delivered presentations at national and/or international conferences, documented excellence in teaching evidenced by peer and student evaluations, and demonstrated evidence of the ability to build relationships with business partners. Experience and/or interest in online/hybrid teaching and the incorporation of active learning in classes are also desirable.
