The Department of Economics at KU Leuven (Belgium) invites applications for two positions:
-- Microeconomic Theory
-- Macroeconomics
These positions start on October 1, 2015 and the successful candidate will be hired in the rank of assistant, associate or full professor according to his/her qualifications. Interested candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Economics or in a related field with demonstrable expertise in either of the two research areas.

The position requires a completed Ph.D. (or expected in 2015), evidence of high-quality research, and good teaching potential. Junior applicants (pre-tenure) can demonstrate research excellence with promising ongoing research projects or papers and academic references.

The KU Leuven offers a dynamic and internationally oriented research environment. In recent years, several independent accreditation commissions have systematically ranked the Faculty of Economics and Business highly in terms of quality of teaching and research.

Leuven is a historical town, but also a dynamic and vibrant city in the center of Belgium. It lies within a twenty-minute drive from Brussels, the capital of Belgium and of the European Union, and less than two hours from Paris, London and Amsterdam.
