The Economics Department at West Virginia University seeks applications for up to two positions at the assistant or associate professor level. For each position we seek either an assistant professor with demonstrated capacity for high-quality research or an associate professor with an internationally recognized record of excellence in research. Consideration will be given to an applicant's ability to communicate the free-market perspective to a broad audience. A successful candidate will be a member of the economics department, be affiliated with a new political economy center, be expected to produce high-quality scholarship for leading economics journals, serve on dissertation committees, and teach both undergraduate and PhD courses in economics. Depending on qualifications, a successful candidate will be offered a tenure-track position or be brought in with the recommendation for tenure. Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. in Economics or a related field by the time of appointment.

WVU is located in Morgantown, WV and is the State's comprehensive Land Grant University with an enrollment of nearly 30,000 students and a Carnegie Classification - High Research. The Department of Economics is part of the AACSB-accredited College of Business and Economics and offers a PhD in the discipline.
