Georgia State University invites applications for one or more track appointments in the area of risk management effective Fall 2015.
Rank is open, but we expect to hire at the Assistant or Associate Professor level for one or more positions.
Job Qualifications:
Candidates for the Assistant Professor position should completed Ph.D. by the time of appointment in Risk Management or a related field (Finance or Economics). Further, candidates should have a strong capability of publishing in top tier journals in the area of risk. Candidates at the Associate or Full Professor level must have a record of scholarly achievement consistent with rank. We are particularly interested in those have a research and teaching interest in the economics of insurance, income risk, retirement risk, and/or the economics of employee benefits.
Our mission is to better understand how risks faced by individuals, institutions, and societies can be more accurately measured and more efficiently managed. Faculty have risk-related research interests including behavioral economics, experimental methods, actuarial science, mathematical finance, econometrics, household finance, corporate decision making, legal risk, and insurance economics.
We are currently rated #4 in the U.S. News and World Report ranking of RMI programs; we hold a Center of Actuarial Excellence designation from the Society of Actuaries; and we are an Accredited Risk Program according to PRMIA.
The salary level and course load are competitive.
