Fedesarrollo, Colombia’s leading independent think tank shaping public policy, invites applications for a Research Fellow position. The successful candidate will develop an independent research agenda and collaborate with other researchers to generate rigorous evidence that informs policy.

Candidates specializing in applied microeconomics, particularly public economics, labor economics, health economics, development economics, or political economy, are especially encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities: Produce rigorous, policy-relevant research, engage with policymakers and funders to translate research into policy recommendations, represent Fedesarrollo in academic and policy forums, and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications: Applicants must hold, or expect to complete before starting, a PhD in Economics, Public Policy, Political Science, or a related field. Strong quantitative skills and prior professional experience in public policy—including applied research, policy design or evaluation, or advising public institutions—are required.

The position is based in Bogotá and is particularly suited to Colombian researchers seeking to return home after completing their doctoral studies abroad. Fedesarrollo offers a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
