The Institute for Policy Integrity at New York University School of Law (policyintegrity.org) is seeking an experienced, policy-oriented PhD economist with 3+ years of relevant work experience.

The ideal candidate should have a focus on policy-oriented research in one of the following areas: (1) environmental or resource economics; (2) transportation/electric vehicle policy; or (3) energy policy/electricity markets. Excellent statistical/econometric, data, and written communication skills are essential.

Policy Integrity is a non-partisan think tank dedicated to improving the quality of government decisionmaking through advocacy and scholarship in the fields of administrative law, economics, and regulatory policy. We work to identify and support economically sound policies related to energy, the environment, and public health.

The economist will collaborate with legal and economic researchers to prepare policy reports, comments in regulatory proceedings, and journal articles on a variety of issues including energy, transportation, and climate policy, natural resources management, and benefit-cost analysis.

Policy Integrity research appointments are for 12 months, with regular extensions occurring upon mutual agreement. Salary and benefits are competitive. Economists will have opportunities to engage in independent research and access scholar forums at NYU.
