The Institute of New Structural Economics at Peking University is China's first institution aiming at independent theoretical innovation in social sciences. Its predecessor is the Center for New Structural Economics at Peking University. Founded in December 2015 by Professor Justin Yifu Lin, former chief economist and senior vice president of the World Bank, it is one of the first pilot units of high-level think tanks in the country.
