The Department of Economics of Rutgers University-New Brunswick invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in economic history and labor economics. We seek applicants whose research focuses on the economics of inequality and/or the impact of inequality on economic development. This position is supported by the Faculty Diversity Hiring Initiative from the Office of the President and will be part of cluster hire in Race, Racism, and Intersecting Inequalities that will create a network of scholars from across the social and behavioral sciences engaged in examining the impact of race and racism on economic, social, political, environmental, and health inequalities. The position involves teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, with a start date of 9/1/2023.

Successful completion of a PhD or equivalent in Economics or related field is required by the start date.
