Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) seeks to fill two Ph.D. level economist positions. BEA's mission as a leader in the development of new and innovative approaches to economic measurement is to strengthen our understanding of the U.S. economy by improving GDP and other national, regional, industry, and international accounts data.

Work in the international area involves research and analysis on international finance and investment, trade in goods and services, and the operations of multinational companies. Many of the projects employ micro level data from BEA surveys of international direct investment, multinational companies, and international services trade. Studies may cover such topics as globalization, trade in value added, and trends in the international economic accounts.

A successful candidate will conduct independent research on topics of importance to BEA's mission and will be expected to publish that research in professional journals, the Survey of Current Business (BEA's monthly publication), and present the work at conferences. Candidates who have demonstrated experience with empirical research are preferred. Candidates must be U.S. citizens at time of application. BEA is an equal opportunity employer.
Application Instructions:

All U.S. Citizens may apply to vacancy announcement BEA-BPD-2014-0016. Refer to Who May Apply section for vacancy announcement BEA-BPD-2014-0014 for eligibility information.
