Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Basel, Switzerland, invites applications for an Assistant Professorship (Tenure Track) Political Economics of Energy Policy to begin on May 1, 2015.

The appointment will be at the level of an Assistant Professor with the possibility of promotion to a tenured position (Associate Professor) after five years. The successful candidate should have research experience in the field of political economics. Experience in empirical research would be an advantage. Prior work on energy-related topics is welcome but not necessary. However, it is expected that future work will focus on Swiss and European energy policy.

The professorship involves teaching degree courses at the Bachelor's and Master's level and contributing to the faculty's doctoral program. The teaching commitment amounts to 4 hours per week each semester. Teaching duties may be carried out in English.

The position is part of SCCER CREST, a Swiss Competence Centre for Energy Research. SCCER CREST works on economic, social, and legal aspects of the transition of energy systems, providing both cutting-edge research and policy recommendations. It consists of a research consortium that involves, besides the University of Basel, the ZHAW, ETHZ, EPFL, and the Universities of Geneva, Lucerne, Neuchâtel and St.Gallen. We expect the successful candidate to contribute strongly to the planned research of the SCCER (see https://www.sccer-crest.ch), to participate in joint research activities, and to collaborate in joint efforts to secure additional research funding.

The faculty is committed to increasing the proportion of women holding professorships and thus strongly welcomes female applicants.
