The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) seeks several candidates to join its team of economists as research fellows. Candidates must have completed or expect to soon complete a PhD in economics or in related fields. This is a full-time appointment with competitive salary and benefits.

Research fellows will pursue their own research agenda and are expected to produce academic research suitable for publication in top-level journals and AEI's many in-house publications. Fellows are expected to communicate their research and its policy implications, in writing and in speech, to journalists, policymakers, and the general public.

AEI is a private, non-partisan, 501(c)(3) organization committed to free markets, public engagement, and academic freedom. AEI scholars are self-directed, working on the issues and projects that they view as most important and the best use of their time and talents. AEI scholars often take differing positions on policy issues (in private and in public), making AEI a place of vibrant and informed debate. Founded in 1938, AEI is one of the most respected think tanks in the world.
