The Doctoral Fellowship provides scholars the opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research in the areas of international health, microfinance and female empowerment with faculty Rohini Pande and Erica Field. Fellows will be engaged in ongoing field experiments in India and gain experience in both field management and data analysis. There will be potential opportunities for collaborative research with Pande and Field.

The program targets researchers from Economics and related fields. Successful candidates will have a strong academic record with quantitative analysis, demonstrated research experience and independent work ethic. Candidates will receive a stipend of $60,000, as well as access to the resources available at Harvard University, including workspace, library privileges, and health benefits.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Completed a doctoral degree in Economics, Public Policy, or related fields
• Significant research experience
• Research interests in the area of international health, development, and women’s empowerment
• Strong references from faculty advisors

Start date: July 1, 2014
Duration: 12-24 months
