The Economic Research Service (ERS), United States Department of Agriculture, anticipates having positions available for applicants with strong research skills. The ERS mission is to inform and enhance public and private decision making on economic and policy issues related to agriculture, food, the environment, and rural development. With over 200 economists, ERS is a primary source of economic information and research in the USDA ERS economists conduct and publish rigorous policy research on significant national and international issues. Positions are anticipated in one or more of the following specializations:

--food safety and consumer issues;
--food markets and prices;
--behavioral economics;
--farm income and finance;
--farm production and policy;
--agri-environmental policy;
--rural economics;
-- trade modeling;
--global food security;
--risk management; and
--commodity analysis (crops and livestock).
