The Department of Economics and Finance at the University of North Alabama invites applications for a tenure- track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in August 2014. The successful candidate will be expected to teach and participate in the full range of faculty responsibilities. The teaching duties will include quantitative methods courses in addition to standard undergraduate economics courses. Excellence in teaching and research is expected, and mentoring student research is highly encouraged. We are particularly interested in candidates who wish to combine their teaching and research skills with a close working relationship with the professional business community. Research and publication are required for tenure and promotion. Review of application materials will begin December 15, 2013 and will continue until the position is filled.

UNA is a fully accredited comprehensive regional university with an enrollment of over 7,000 students in four major colleges: Arts and Sciences, Business, Education and Human Sciences, and Nursing & Allied Health. The department of Economics and Finance is located in the College of Business, providing undergraduate and MBA degrees.

A doctorate in economics is required for tenure-track appointment; ABD will be considered for temporary appointment at instructor rank, pending completion of doctorate by August 2015.
