The appointment will be at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank and will be shared jointly between the SPP and a relevant CHASS department (e.g., Anthropology, Economics, Political Science or Sociology). We are looking for candidates with a research record and policy interest in urbanization, housing, transportation, land-use planning, poverty, migration, population growth, health disparities, or economic development in a comparative setting, especially those who are interested in applying lessons from around the world to regional development and planning issues in inland Southern California.

Applicants for Assistant Professor rank are expected to have demonstrated commitment to high-quality scholarly research. For Associate/Full Professor rank, applicants should have an established record of outstanding research accomplishment and teaching; they will be expected to teach and guide the research of Masters and doctoral students, to be committed to a continuing cutting-edge research program that has direct implications for policy reform, and to help build the new School of Public Policy. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in a related discipline, such as public policy, anthropology, demography, economics, sociology or political science by the time of appointment. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with education and experience. The appointment will commence on July 1, 2014.
