The Center for Finance is an interdisciplinary faculty cluster hiring six new faculty in the next three years. As part of the initiative the Department of Economics is seeking a tenure-track faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to begin Fall 2014 in the area of Financial Economics and Asset Pricing or Financial Econometrics. We seek innovative candidates whose research centers on models that enhance the understanding of frictions in financial markets, such as credit constraints, liquidity, investor heterogeneity, portfolio and insurance decisions. Candidates in Financial Econometrics should demonstrate strong promise in terms of methodological advances and state-of-the-art methodologies and concepts in the analysis of large data sets which flow continuously. The successful candidate will interact with faculty in the center, contributing methodological expertise to the data problems arising in a variety of fields.

Candidates must have a PhD in economics or a related discipline, demonstrated excellence in innovative research, and a strong commitment to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
