This position contributes to all the types of work Economic Research & Consultin (ER&C) does: consulting, corporate planning, and analysis of the Latin American insurance industry. Some of the work includes preparing insurance data for ER&C reports and industry analysis. Other tasks involve the preparation of macroeconomic briefing material for the Latin American Region. Computer and statistical skills (E-Views, Excel, and PowerPoint) are used in our analysis.

Senior Economists (VP level at Swiss Re) manage projects to completion with minimal supervision/guidance and have good interpersonal skills. In addition, they generate a workflow of value added projects from Swiss Re's business units. This entails marketing ER&C's services to various company stakeholders. The projects may be related to exploring the market for a new business line, client segment, quantifying and modeling an economic risk, producing an industry outlook for a senior executive, analyzing the impact of regulatory or legislative changes.

Ph.D. or Masters degree in Economics.
Experience in insurance industry preferred.
Interest in macroeconomic analysis and forecasting, particularly on Latin America, are important.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English are a prerequisite; Portuguese is a plus.
