The OCC charters, regulates, and supervises all national banks, federal branches, and agencies of foreign banks and federal savings associations. The OCC's Risk Analysis Divisions (RAD) have openings for financial economists who have strong statistical and econometric background and have (or are interested in developing) modeling expertise in credit risk, market risk, or enterprise risk that includes one or more of the following areas: credit scoring, portfolio credit risk, regulatory capital models, economic capital models, enterprise-wide stress testing, derivatives trading, asset liability management, market and counter party risk management, asset securitization and stress testing, as well as expertise in quantitative statistical and mathematical modeling. Job Qualifications: At the senior level, the successful candidate will have a demonstrated expertise in credit, market, or enterprise risk modeling as evidenced by a substantial publication record and/or significant financial industry experience in related areas. At the junior level, candidates will have a demonstrated interest in developing credit, market, or enterprise risk modeling expertise and strong statistical and econometric background as evidenced by completed scholarly research work in related areas and a firm expectation of defending their Ph.D. in Economics, Finance, Statistics, or related field by summer 2014, or an equivalent combination of education and industry experience. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active research agenda and to stay current on modeling skills and expertise, and to participate in bank exams reviewing banks'quantitative risk models providing advice to national bank examiners, policy makers and to bankers on model appropriateness and accuracy, and on model risk management principles and practices. The job requires some overnight travel.

Position Requirement: Candidates must be US citizens or permanent residents.

Salary and Benefits: The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency is among the top places to work in the federal government. The Salary range for Financial Economists (at the NB V.2 level) is $83,591 to $155,630 per year and for Senior Financial Economists (at the NB VI level) $98,176 to $182,428 per year.
