Full Text of JOE Listing:
The University of Surrey is an international University with a world-class research profile and an enterprising spirit. Inventive and forward-thinking, the University's heritage shows a recurring theme of doing things differently - and achieving notable results.

The School of Economics at Surrey (http://www2.surrey.ac.uk/economics/) has a reputation for Research and Teaching in Economics, built upon a commitment to high quality, rigorously founded applied and theoretical work, often of direct policy significance. The School enjoys a strong profile in research and teaching, exemplified by a successful 2008 RAE and recent NSS scores. We have recently invested heavily to recruit staff whose work is innovative and consequential for international research agendas.

As part of an exciting strategic initiative to consolidate the School's position as a top Economics department in the UK, we are looking to make several appointments for Lectureships, from July 2014. Candidates should hold, or be close to holding, a relevant PhD and should be able to demonstrate clear international research potential. We encourage applications from candidates with research/teaching interests in all areas of Economics and Econometrics.

In return we can offer a competitive remuneration package, which includes relocation assistance where appropriate, the latest teaching facilities, and access to a variety of staff development opportunities.

Applicants must apply online at EconJobMarket.org by December 1, 2013 in order to be considered for first-round interviews at the Simposio (SAE) in Santander, at the ASSA Meetings in Philadelphia, or at the RES PhD meeting in London.
Please submit a cover letter (stating at which of the above meetings you will be available for interviews), a curriculum vitae, and research papers. Please also arrange for three letters of reference to be submitted via EconJobMarket.org by the same deadline.

The deadline for this ad is December 1, 2013.

However, the formal application to this post has to be done by the 17th of January 2014 through the University HR system: on-line at https://jobs.surrey.ac.uk or alternatively please contact Human Resources, either via email on fbelhr@surrey.ac.uk, or by telephone on +44(0)1483 683986 (24 hours).

Informal enquires should be directed in the first instance to Dr Vasco Gabriel, Head of School by telephone on +44(0)1483 682769 or v.gabriel@surrey.ac.uk.

We acknowledge, understand and embrace cultural diversity.
