The Washington State University School of Economic Sciences seeks an Assistant/Associate Professor in the area of macroeconomics. This is a 9 month, tenure-track faculty position located on the university's main campus in Pullman, WA. Responsibilities will include publication of high quality peer-reviewed research in the field of macroeconomics, procurement of external grants and contracts in support of research activities, teaching at the graduate and/or undergraduate level (including macroeconomics), and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students. Required: PhD in economics or closely related field by date of hire, specialization in Macroeconomics, and strong competency in economic theory and quantitative methods. Preferred qualifications: Demonstrated ability to develop and implement a nationally recognized research program leading to scholarly publications in macroeconomics; demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels; effective written and oral communication skills; demonstrated ability to develop and obtain extramural funding for research programs; demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues, including collaborative research in macroeconomics or related fields; and demonstrated ability to work with a variety of audiences, including governmental agency representatives, and persons of diverse cultures and backgrounds.
